When there is an “I want”, there is a desire. If such a desire were realized, there would be happiness; if not, depending on the process itself.
If such “I want” is ignored because of the outside voice, such as the “I don’t want,” as well, then the regret will remain too; it means it will consume one’s energy capacity for a long time, invisibly.
“I want” is an inner voice; “I shouldn’t do something to realize I want” is a rational process. Surely, rationality cut off the flow.
However, it doesn’t mean every “I want” needs to be realized; the key difference is whether it is a desire for a long-term, sustainable goal or a need for the current, unsustainable aim. If it’s for the desire, such a denial for “I want” will remain a long-lasting guilt; if it is for the needs, then it will be a good choice.
The secret of life is flow; a living flow is generally clear.
